Completed in 1924, Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium was dedicated to honor the Texans who had fought in World War I.  At the time, it was touted as "the largest sports facility of its kind in the Southwest".  Since that time, it has been expanded a number of times to bring the seating capacity to 100,119.  In May 2019, work began on expansion of the South End of the stadium.  it is expected to be completed for the 2021 football season.
